Sunroom Remodel

Sunroom remodel.

Description of Sunroom Remodel

This sunroom's floors were sanded and refinished to reveal the beautiful wood that was hidden by 75 years of varnish and dirt. The walls were painted in a rich gray/green to contrast with the newly painted white windows, trim, and ceiling. The rusted radiator was sanded and painted a clean white as well.

Description of Living Room Remodel

As you place your cursor over this picture, you can see the old paint on the walls, the aged windows, the discolored trim paint, and the neglected floors.

To return this room to its original beauty, Jim refinished the hard wood floors, replaced the windows and stained their wood, painted the window and room trim in high gloss white paint, painted the walls in a Ralph Lauren color, painted the ceiling white, and covered the radiator with solid wood covers.

Dining Room Remodel

Description of Dining Room Remodel

As you place your cursor over this picture, you can see the age of the materials.

Everything was redone from the floors to the ceiling. As in the other rooms, the floors were refinished to show the beautiful oak with the mahogany inlay around the perimeter. The windows were replaced and stained. The ceiling was painted a pure white. A chair rail and wainscoting were added to give the room a richer look. The regal cranberry paint contrasted beautifully with the high gloss white trim. The final addition was the solid wood radiator cover stained to match the windows and the furniture which was to be added.

Bedroom Remodel

As you place your cursor over this picture, you can see the aged and discolored paint on the trim and radiator. The walls were already primed in the picture because they were a deep tourquoise color before.

To freshen up this room, Jim painted the ceiling a flat white, he painted the windows and trim in high gloss white, he painted the walls in a soft blue, and he refinished the floors. Because the room was structurally sound, all of the changes were strictly aesthetic. To finish everything off, Jim changed the sconces and installed a ceiling fan/light.

Hallway Remodel

Hallway Remodel

As you place your cursor over this picture, you can see the drab white-on-white walls and trim. The floor needed to be refinished as did the stairs and hand rail.

To bring the center hall back to its original beauty, Jim refinished the stairs and the floor. He then painted the toe kick of each stair a high gloss white to match the trim and doors. The hand rail was also refinished to remove the 70 years of varnish and bring out the natural beauty of the wood. On the walls Jim chose a warm Ralph Lauren color that contrasted subtlely but beautifully with the trim.

Exterior Facelift

Description of
Exterior Remodel

As you place your cursor over this picture, you can see the monochromatic color of the shutters, windows, and trim. The roof is aged, and the vegitation is overgrown and untamed.

Jim first tackled the azaleas, which were mature but unloved. After cutting them back, they exploded with new blooms! Jim also removed the two large evergreen bushes on either side of the entrance and added flowering crepe myrtle bushes and trees. With the entrance opened up, Jim chose a neutral tan that matched the mortar of the brick. As an accent color for the brick which had blue in it, Jim chose and applied a midnight blue. The piece de resistance was the new architectural grade roof and a retaining wall made of flatstone to line the driveway.
